Nightcrawler Reborn: Spinnenmann, Creepy Crawler, and the Shocking Truth About His Parents
Marvel has never been afraid to push its mutants into strange, sometimes unsettling directions. But Nightcrawler — the fuzzy blue teleporting heart of the X-Men — has recently undergone one of the wildest transformations in his comic book history. Buckle up as we dive into his dark evolution as Spinnenmann and Creepy Crawler, tangled in techno-horror, secret identities, and revelations that rewrite everything we thought we knew about his origin. From Swashbuckler to Spinnenmann
In the wake of Krakoa’s collapse, Kurt Wagner found himself mentally unhinged and on the run. Rebranding himself as Spinnenmann (a terrifying Spider-Man-esque vigilante), his mutated form grew grotesque — more arachnid than elf. His violent spree caught the attention of Orchis, the anti-mutant organization now run by an upgraded Director Vulture, who’d infused his gear with the alien Technarchy virus.
But Kurt wasn’t just dodging Orchis. Silver Sable and the Wild Pack were on his tail too, and before long, Kurt faced off with a mind-controlled Rhino, proving he still had the hero in him… even if it was buried under a monster’s mask.
Creepy Crawler and the Rise of the Hounds
Kurt reemerged once again, this time as the unsettling Creepy Crawler, targeted by a twisted squad of Orchis Hounds — mutant hunters infected with Technarchy tech, including the likes of Cloak and Dagger, Fatale, and Feral. But amid all this chaos, something even stranger happened:
He and Silver Sable fell into a passionate affair.
And then came a bombshell that broke the Marvel multiverse wide open…
Mystique is the Father. Destiny is the Mother.
Yep, you read that right. Kurt wasn’t the son of Azazel. Mystique — through genetic assimilation of Azazel’s DNA — was both his biological father and his mother. Destiny, her long-time partner, was his actual mother. Together, they tried to raise him, but fear and mob violence tore the family apart.
Decades later, Kurt helped restore Mystique’s full memory, leading to an emotional reunion and the truth about his role in thwarting Azazel’s future reign of terror. Warping timelines, memory erasure by Professor X, prophetic sacrifice — it’s a classic X-Men family mess.
Infiltrating Orchis & Beating Director Vulture
With his found family at his side — Sable and Mystique — Kurt launched one final mission: breaking into Orchis to rescue Warlock, whose Technarchy virus had been weaponized. The team turned the tables, liberated infected mutants, and defeated Director Vulture.
Kurt emerged not just victorious, but transformed — a mutant who had walked through madness and memory, betrayal and redemption… and come out the other side more himself than ever.

Second Chapter Brewing: Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout 2023 – Brewed in October 2023, this Imperial Stout has undergone a year-long transformation, quietly aging and deepening its character in a bourbon barrel from Pine Bluffs Distilling in Wyoming. Smoky oak and rich bourbon notes wrap around the bold and roasted malts like a leather binding around a treasured manuscript. The flavors blend harmoniously for a strong yet smooth brew. We invite you to savor and share this chapter of our brewing journey. And yes … this little story was actually engraved on the bottle which I haven’t been able to get myself to toss because it’s so cool. Thinking I make it into a beer glass if I find someone with a glass cutter. This bad boy was actually incredible. I usually hate just regular stouts / imperial stouts but the bourbon barrel flavor on this thing was incredible. Only 5 people have checked this thing in on Untappd and I’m the first one to rate it! So it’s rating still shows as a 0.0 but should be showing up as a 4.0 here shortly!

Weldwerks Brewing: Starry Night – This was our warmup beer that we finished up as we started and hawt diddle it was amazing. I had had this bad boy before and that coconut flavor is to die for. Their description of it is brief but I’m sure you get the point … Milk Stout with Milk Chocolate, Hazelnut Flour, Coconut Chips & Milk Sugar

Drekker Brewing: Goon Platoon – Just Abby didn’t really care for this one but I thought it slapped just like pretty much every single Drekker beer you’ll ever put into your mouth. Silky smooth with a slight sweetness that made this for sure one of my fav IPAs from Drekker. Here’s how they describe it … Goon Platoon is brewed with oats and loaded up with Citra, Belma, and NZH-107 hops for a super balanced flavor with notes of kiwi, guava, and strawberry candy. Yeehaww
