Comics & Brews was started as an idea many years ago. It finally came to fruition in 2023. TazAlGhul was laid off from his job. This happened because his CEO fled the country and never returned. I know … Wild. But that caused the birth of something great.

Growing up in Huntington Beach near a comic book shop fostered a love for comics. It also sparked an interest in cards as a wee little lad. Once of age (or way earlier as most) beer came into the frame. Always enjoying but never truly taking in the craft beer that entered this body. Really missed an opportunity there growing up in Orange County California … But not to worry! The next land I moved to was even better.

I moved to Colorado in 2020. I quickly realized all the glorious nectars out there. Hence, the brews part of Comics & Brews came to be. The perfect unity of 2 of my favorite things … but how can I launch this greatness? A podcast by myself? No chance … nobody will listen to that. But then … Just Abby came into the fold to become the finest co-host in all the land. Her not having really any comic book knowledge just made the drunk history of these characters even better. Diving into this multiverse of madness reveals well-known comic book characters. It also introduces us to those we’ve never heard of before. We’re gaining knowledge on the fly. We also hope to spread the word of some of the finest characters ever created.

As we travel around the US, we strive to bring more beers into each episode. This way, you too can hunt them down yourself! There’s nothing like a new beer to add to the Untappd that is unlike anything you’ve ever tasted. Whether it’s a Hazy IPA, a Fruited Sour or just a good ol crispy Lager, we’re here for it all. Let us all enjoy these incredible creations we should be proud to have at our fingertips. Cheers my people.
