By: TazAlGhul & Stinker | Comics & Brews Podcast
Pull up a stool, pour a drink, and get ready to talk about the greatest Force-wielder who never became a Jedi

If you’ve ever wondered what happens when a rebellious space monk-in-training ditches the Jedi Order, survives a galactic purge, and still manages to become one of the most legendary figures in the Star Wars galaxy… you’re in the right place.

In this episode of Comics & Brews, your slightly buzzed hosts TazAlGhul and Stinker take you on a hilariously heartfelt deep-dive into the life and legacy of Ahsoka Tano—with a few drinks in hand, of course. 🍻 Give it a watch below and PLEASE if you can give it a like and subscribe as we continue our quest for 1,000 subs my babayyys! For a quick gist of what’s in the episode you can keep on scrolling to find the cliff notes.

🌟 Who is Ahsoka Tano?

First introduced in Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008), Ahsoka was once just “Anakin Skywalker’s snippy Padawan.” But over time—and across animation, novels, and live-action—she’s become one of the most beloved and fully developed characters in the franchise.

Born on the planet Shili, Ahsoka was discovered by Jedi Master Plo Koon and brought to Coruscant for training. She was assigned to Anakin during the height of the Clone Wars, which was basically like throwing her into a blender of war, politics, and bad decision-making.

⚔️ The Padawan Who Didn’t Stay

From the moment she steps onto the battlefield, Ahsoka proves she’s not just another Jedi-in-training. She’s bold, smart, compassionate—and not afraid to call her master out on his crap. Their sibling-like bond becomes one of the emotional pillars of The Clone Wars.

But in one of the most gut-wrenching arcs in Star Wars TV, Ahsoka is framed for a bombing at the Jedi Temple. The Council, in their classic “we have no idea what we’re doing” fashion, casts her out.

She’s eventually cleared—but when they offer to welcome her back, Ahsoka pulls the ultimate power move and walks away.

“I am no Jedi.”
– Ahsoka Tano, knowing her worth

🧠 Smarter Than the Council, Cooler Than the Sith

After leaving the Order, Ahsoka keeps doing what Jedi are supposed to do: help people. She hides her identity, travels the galaxy, and gets pulled into major events—like the Siege of Mandalore, where she duels Darth Maul in one of the most cinematic lightsaber battles ever animated.

Then, of course… Order 66 drops. Ahsoka survives, narrowly escaping her clone troopers with the help of Captain Rex. She disappears into the shadows, faking her death and burying her lightsabers.

She’s not done fighting. She just stops doing it on their terms.

🛰 Fulcrum, Rebels, and a Familiar Mask

In Star Wars Rebels, Ahsoka resurfaces years later as the mysterious Fulcrum, feeding intel to rebel cells. She mentors Ezra Bridger, supports Kanan Jarrus, and eventually comes face-to-face with her greatest fear: her old master, now Darth Vader.

Their duel is not just epic—it’s devastating. When she cracks his mask and sees the man she once called Skyguy, it’s a moment that breaks fans and characters alike.

She barely survives the encounter thanks to the World Between Worlds, a mystical time-space realm that somehow makes time travel weirdly poetic.

🎬 Live-Action Ahsoka & New Beginnings

Rosario Dawson brings Ahsoka to live-action life in The Mandalorian, instantly capturing her wisdom, confidence, and intensity. She’s on the hunt for Grand Admiral Thrawn, a long-lost Imperial tactician with big “I play 4D chess in my sleep” energy.

In the Disney+ series Ahsoka, we see her team up with Sabine Wren, battle Nightsisters, explore ancient Force lore, and eventually end up stranded in another galaxy—while Thrawn returns to theirs, setting up the next big Star Wars conflict.

The show closes with Ahsoka still walking her own path—not a Jedi, not a Sith, but something new. Something better.

💬 Why Ahsoka Matters

Ahsoka isn’t great because she was powerful. She’s great because she questioned everything the Jedi stood for and still chose to fight for what’s right. She’s loyal, brave, emotional, and wise—without ever needing the title “Master.”

She walked away from a broken system and still saved people.

She’s what the Jedi were supposed to be.

So all in all … Absolute legend. I myself as you can tell if you watched the video on YouTube can tell that I have about 2% knowledge of anything Star Wars. So this one goes out to all the Wookie fans out there because I am a fan but not the biggest. BUT I’m always in to learn more about some legendary comic and nerd lore and that’s what comics & brews is all about!

The return of Just Abby came and went real quick like. She returned for one quickie Nightcrawler episode and left us once again. BUT Stinker was the finest co-host we could have asked for when it comes to Ahsoka! Clearly he knew it all and gave us all a lifetime of knowledge. For this Episode Stinker and I got quite a variety of bevies going which we forgot to intro into the episode for the first time. But if you made it halfway through you’ll see me come to the realization that I flubbed that one up. I believe it’s around the 14:25 mark for those hunting for our beer announcement. Anyways … here’s what we drank.

Knotted Root Brewing: Steak & Eggs – Steak and Eggs is an Unfiltered New Zealand DIPA brewed with a protein-rich base of flaked oats, flaked wheat, and white wheat. Being a medium-rare member of NZ Hops “Bract Brewer Program,” we hopped this juicy steak exclusively with NZ-101. These trials help shape the future of commercial hop production in New Zealand. Think hearty breakfast from Denny’s, Cracker Barrel, and Bob Evans. I def forgot to rate it within the Untappd app because I was toasted and wanted to get this show on the road. However, I def remember how glorious it was so I’ll still give that magical beer a 4.25 no doubt because as always Knotted Root always slaps them hazys.

(I Rated it a 4.25) It’s Untappd overall rating is (4.23)

Drekker Brewing: Boom with that Attitude Tiki Sour – Brick wall, waterfall, this tiki sour’s got it ALL. We teamed up with our friends at Ology Brewing Co. to evoke the hella pleasant sensation of crackin’ a can on an island beach at sunset. This flavorful combo of mango, passionfruit, lime, coconut, and orgeat rolls like waves over your taste buds! Sorry my people this was an incredible can art as all of you probably know and I def forgot to rip a picture of it mid-episode. My B

(I Rated it a 4.00) It’s Untappd overall rating is (4.17)

Here’s a couple pictures of the cans I did get pictures of … as you can see one of them was a warmup beer that wasn’t actually in the episode but it deserved a mention.

Did you like the glass from our beers of the episode seen above? Well you can get it here! This bad boy was just recently re-stocked so get it while you can!
