Episode #18: The Drunk History of Professor Oak

Per the numbers, this is our best episode yet. I am writing this post with over 200 hits on the Tube! We tested our newest backdrop and riffed about one of the most legendary character in Pokemon history! None other than Professor Oak, my boy Sam! This episode was actually a whole lot more than just a drunk history as well. We are on a Coors Light strike. This happened after Molson Coors closed the most historic Wisconsin brewery. Leinenkugel’s, which has been around for more than 100 years, was closed. The Leinenkugels offered something to Coors in hopes to save it and were just swiftly rejected. So the 100+ year brewery is shutting down and they’ll only have their little tasting room. A huge downfall for Chippewa Falls in Wisconsin. For sure a big blow to this town losing a historic brewery. Terribly sorry for the 50+ employees who were shell shocked by this news which came out of the blue a few months ago. Shoutout to the brothers for attempting a buy back. We shall now be drinking everything else that isn’t Molson Coors for the time being. If you have never been to Chippewa falls I’m sure it’s touch to understand how this could have such a huge effect but I’m sure it does. Tiny town vibes. Hopefully one day they can win this duel and get their ancient brewery back in action!

Did You Know Professor Oak Was a Time Traveler?

Did you remember that he actually time traveled in the Celebi movie to hang out with the present day Ash? You did if you watched the episode before reading this! If you’re like me, and you hadn’t seen the Celebi movie since it came out, it was quite mind blowing. Re-visiting this incredible shakeup in the storyline was surprising. Oak is the OG Pokemon influencer and has seen all of this coming from that time traveling day on.

Samuel Oak, as most of you probably know, was like the Einstein of Pokemon. He truly is the core of Pokemon itself. He created a legend in Ash. Did you know that Oak wasn’t always a professor? Back in his younger days he was actually a Pokemon trainer. A legendary one at that. Rivals? Yes he had one. Agatha from the Elite 4 was quite spicy on the battlefield and possibly in the sack … ayoooo. Professor Oak be wheeling. Lua Brewing: They Sent You – Hazy IPA – Out of Des Moines Iowa. The can literally has a flying Furby in a space ship. It is abducting a circle of naked dancing people below it. It’s a hazy IPA with citrus & Krush and absolutely slaps.

Weldwerks Brewing: Maple Praline Cheesecake Sour Ale with maple syrup, pecan, praline and brown sugar. I rated it a 4.0 out of 5. Tastes exactly how they explain it and still was bangin even when it got warm.

This glorious beverage was just a side quest that I crushed before the episode and wow it was the perfect warm-up. Cerebral never disappoints when it comes to a hazy.

Let’s chat all things Pokemon! As a 90’s child Pokemon will forever and always have a place in my heart. There is nothing like the memory of going to Costco as a child. I got a lime green Gameboy Color packaged up with blue version. That will forever be burned into my brain.
