Daily writing prompt
What’s your dream job?

Since we got this glorious layup for a daily writing prompt I figured it was the perfect time to lay out our goals and dreams for Comics & Brews since we’ve never really posted it publicly. Just a wee bit of a sprinkle of what we’d like to do in the podcast we did called The Taproom Podcast which you can listen to if you want by clicking here or watching the video below where we do an interview of what we’re all about. Mind you this was when we first started the brand and had (still have) a ton of heavy lifting to do.

Bottle House in Utah or Wisconsin is the plan. Where we go is the question.

If you’ve watched our podcast you know we’re headed up by TazAlGhul (muah) and Just Abby. When Comics & Brews came to fruition in my skull it was all just a dream of an idea that I was never sure would come to fruition. I was never going to start a podcast by myself telling the Drunk History of Comic Book Characters. That just sounds way less fun than doing it with a friend. Therefore, it took quite some time to get this thing started. I got the branding all handled, the channels made but just needed that special someone who would rip nerd stuff with me. Then came Just Abby who was totally game to fire it up! And now I think she’s actually starting to enjoy it haha. She could confirm in the comments if that’s a total lie though … we’ll see if she ever actually reads this. With that being the main thing to start this brand to become something that was more than just another apparel brand. Those come and go. I wanted something more. So step #1 was complete. Podcast checked off. Next and final goal/step is our plan to be a bottle / tap house that is a combination of a comic book store and craft beer Mecca. Here we would have beers from all around the country that you just can’t find all in one place. Breweries like Cerebral, Weldwerks, Bottle Logic, Drekker, Tree House, etc. Just so many out there that people have never gotten to experience that would probably totally blow their mind as far as craft beer goes. I know I myself had never broadened my horizons until I was already clear into my mid to late 20s. Ohhh the beer I could have had while I still lived in California. So sad. On top of that to be able to hopefully collaborate on special limited brews with many breweries around the country with comic book themes would be a dream come true. We already try to tie these thoughts into a lot of our products and have actually gotten to design a comic-themed label for Fiction Brewing. Man that was fun. If you haven’t seen our tapping event at Fiction with Hall of Justice Comics be sure to watch the video at the bottom of this post. But since I’ve sprinkled our idea of our taphouse into your head let’s give you some visuals of what we’re thinking concept wise. Maybe someone out there somewhere would love to be a partner. You never know when the stars can align.

Realistic Timeline

Deep inside I’m not sure this will ever come to fruition but it’s 100% our main goal. Whether we’re in Utah or Wisconsin it’ll be a dream come true which is why this prompt was straight up perfecto. We feel Wisconsin would be the better of the two as far as liquor laws go since Utah has it quite rough and seems very difficult to deal with. However, I think Utah has such a need for incredible craft beers, especially in Southern Utah which is where we would want to be. There’s almost no craft beer out there until you start getting into Arizona which we think would be an incredible market to tap. Beers. Comics. Greatness. Plus recording our podcast in our own bar/studio? I don’t think it gets much better than that. If this thing becomes a reality I think a realistic goal would be an opening in 2026 or 2027. Fingers crossed. Put that good juju out there for us my people.
